Like many, Ginny Taylor began journal writing in one of those pink, lined diaries with a latch and silver key back when she was a young girl. Unfortunately for her, this type of journaling usually didn’t last beyond January 10th of any given year. Ginny picked journal writing back up about 15 years ago, chronicling prayers, gratitudes, and memories. This eventually fed her desire to be a writer. In 2008 during her first year in in a graduate program for creative writing, Ginny believes journaling truly saved her life when it forced her to acknowledge deep levels of lingering pain and the need for healing of her mind, body, and spirit. Ginny has been a “journaling activist” ever since, becoming a Certified Instructor in from the Center for Journal Therapy in Journal to the Self: a program of 18 different journaling techniques offering writers opportunity for personal discovery and creative expression. Ginny now teaches Journal to the Self at workshops and retreats throughout NE Ohio. In addition, she holds her MFA in Creative Writing from Ashland University and MA from Hiram College in Interdisciplinary Studies. Her work has been widely published. A believer in the healing power of yoga, Ginny is also completing her 200-level yoga teacher training at The Yoga Room with Maureen Lauer-Gatta.

Ginny is the founder of Women of Wonder, where she challenges women with a history of sexual abuse to bravely examine lingering shame, to courageously deepen self-confidence and compassion, and then to boldly live out their visions and dreams. Her work combines the healing modalities of journaling and yoga for mentoring women through shame to empowerment, or Wonder-Hearted living.
