Class Descriptions

All Levels Yoga

Mixed level Hatha Yoga class. As they are ready, students progress to a more advanced poses, breathing and meditation techniques. This is a systematic method of introducing complete physical, mental and emotional relaxation.

Beginner Yoga

Covers basic yoga postures, alignment, breathing techniques, and relaxation experiences.

Core Strengthening and Aerobic Conditioning

This is a total-body workout that helps students reshape their bodies, build core strength, and lose weight using multiple exercise methods. Please bring clean tennis shoes for class. (60 min)

Donation Based Yoga Class

General yoga class that will help you to relax and reduce stress through gentle stretches and breathing exercises to help you get through the rest of the week.  This is a donation based class and is not free. Donation simply means that you give what you can. (60 - 75 min)

Flow Yoga (formally Classica Flow Yoga) 

This is a flow class for all levels. Detailed instruction of alignment and intelligent sequencing will be given. Synchronizing breath with movement clears out blocked energy so this class is aimed to lift your spirits and leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed. 

Gentle Stretch Yoga

For students of all ages who have physical conditions that may limit their ability to participate in strenuous exercise.

Gentle Healing Yoga

Gentle yoga specifically aimed to alleviate depression, anxiety, panic, stress, chronic pain and addictive tendencies. Yoga to overcome trauma, addiction and stress through bilateral movement and intelligent sequencing. This class is truly accessible to everybody. Feel free to either stay seated in a chair or get up and move. No experience necessary. Beginners and advanced students welcome. 

Kundalini Yoga
"Kundalini Yoga is called the Yoga of Awareness. It is a dynamic, powerful tool that is designed to give you an experience of your soul.

In Kundalini Yoga we harness the mental, physical, and nervous energies of the body and put them under the domain of the will, which is the instrument of the soul. This technology precisely and consciously combines breath, mudra, eye-focus, mantra, body locks, and postures to balance the glandular system, strengthen the nervous system, expand lung capacity, and purifiy the blood. It brings balance to the body, mind, and soul.

Mindful Yoga

This class is based upon Jon Kabat-Zinn's Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction Program (MBSR) yoga session. Mindfulness has been shown to reduce stress in the body and mind. We practice working where we are, in each moment. Gentle poses are practiced and focus on the where the awareness is placed moment by moment. Strengthening the awareness is just like strengthening a muscle, we need to practice. Many people have said this class has helped them to reduce stress and to have better sleep.

Prenatal Kundalini Yoga

Prenatal Kundalini yoga is a sacred science designed to enhance the bond between mother and baby. Each class combines postures, breath, and meditations to prepare mothers to focus on their inner strength, fearlessness, and intuition as they bring their babies into the world.

What are the benefits of prenatal Kundalini?
All postures strengthen not only the physical aspect of the mom to be, but the mental aspect as well. Mediations bring peace and calm, while the breathing techniques bring an inner strength and focus, creating a strong foundation for a conscious, beautiful birthing experience. Babies are more at ease and peaceful because they feel what the mom is feeling.

Who benefits from Kundalini yoga?
All pregnant mothers-to-be can benefit. Classes are safe during all trimesters. Those who are trying to become pregnant are welcome, too. (1 1/2hr) 

Yoga to Awaken Mind, Body & Spirit

Awaken your spirit and open your heart with this morning yoga practice.  This is a flow class for all levels. Detailed instruction of alignment and intelligent sequencing will be given. Synchronizing breath with movement clears out blocked energy so this class is aimed to lift your spirits and leave you feeling relaxed and refreshed. 

Yoga Engineering: Yoga Engineering is a science of building structures and Yoga is the science of the mind. So Yoga Engineering is a way of observing and practicing as a witness to your awareness as we move into and out of asanas. This is open to ALL levels. Yoga breathing (pranayama), mindfulness meditation, yoga postures (asanas) as well as yoga nidra (deep relaxation on a mental and physical level).

Yoga Nidra-Yogic Sleep. It is a state of conscious Deep Sleep. In Meditation, you remain in the Waking state of consciousness, and gently focus the mind, while allowing thought patterns, emotions, sensations, and images to arise and go on. However, in Yoga Nidra, you leave the Waking state, go past the Dreaming state, and go to Deep Sleep, yet remain awake.  A class consists of gentle yoga asanas followed by a guided Yoga Nidra.
